Subject: Accomodations for IMCDA 2006?

Wife and I just signed up for IMCDA in 2006 and I am  looking for accomodations... There is lots of stuff on the event website, but I wanted some input from someone who has done it before.  I want to be very close to the start and host hotel.  Unfortunately the host hotel is like $370.00/night.  Can't quite make that happen.  Any suggestions for a good close spot somewhere around the $120-$150/night range?

I've gotten several PM's regarding accomodations for IMCDA next year so here is a list that I hope will help everyone.

Coeur D'Alene:

Host Hotel:  Coeur D'Alene Resort  1-800-688-5252   Rooms are expensive, likely over $300/night at race time but it's right at race central and it is definitely a 5-star hotel.  Sits right on the water overlooking the swim course and large marina.

LaQuinta Inn and Suites  208-667-6777

LaQuinta Inn  208-765-5500

Holiday Inn Express  208-773-8900

Days Inn  208-667-8668

Super 8  208-765-8880

Other than the host hotel, the rest of these are from 5-10 minutes from the Race Village.

Spokane Valley and Liberty Lake.  These hotels are from 20-30 minutes from Coeur D'Alene and the Race Village.

Oxford Suites  509-847-1000

Quality Inn Valley Suites  509-928-5218

Best Western Pepper Tree Inn  509-755-1111

Comfort Inn and Suites  509-340-3333

Hope this helps everyone.  Any other questions I'll be glad to try to help.

Can you register a year in advance for hotel rooms?

Yeah, you have to. It looks like some of the hotels for next year were full before this years race started.

The website has all those hotels showing as being full for 2005.  I have called several of the places on the event website and nobody is full yet.  I also panicked when I saw "FULL" all over the page, but if you look closely that is for 2005.

Thanks Ivan!

The first place I called was full so I assumed they all were. After reading your post I called another couple of places and they weren't full yet. Whew, maybe I won't have to sell a kidney to afford a room

I'm booked in at the Comfort Inn at Liberty Lake...reasonable rates and looks to be very modern and clean....

one thing less to worry about.

I got my reservations at the Fairfield Inn. $129 a night, 5 night min, 1st night non refundable. About 1 mile from the race start. They weren't taking reservations until the 1st and they seemed busy when I called. If you don't have a room start looking now!

Everytime I used Expedia, the search results always came back not availble for that week of the race....I would think most hotels are booked in the local area.    That was way back in July/Aug.

Holy smokes...how did I miss this?  I have searched Orbitz and Travelocity and can't find a room anywhere.  Does anyone know of reasonably close accommodations that are still available?  Is staying in Spokane way too far?

Spokane is not too far to stay.  About a 30 minute drive to the race village.  I would think you'd still be able to find a room at one of the hotels I listed in my post above.  If not, PM me and I'll do some looking around for you and see what I can find.  Good luck.

Whew....got reservations at the La Quinta (208)765-5500.  2 queens and a kitchenette (with stove, oven, microwave and small refrigerator) for $152.99 a night.  Not a bad deal considering the benefit of the kitchen!
