Subject: Group Bike Rides in San Gabriel Valley
Anyone know of any good organized bike rides/clubs in SG Valley? I've seen a group meeting at County Park in Arcadia and often see large groups on Santa Anita Ave and Longden.

Sure.  Where?  However, the first Saturday that I have available is August 7.  And what sort of distance is being contemplated?  From the Santa Fe Dam down to Seal Beach and back is 60 miles with mostly headwind and crosswind on the way down and tailwind and crosswind on the way back.

LATri Club is starting a beginner/intermediate group ride+run in SGV -- check their website.

I saw the email.  I just might be doing one just to see how it goes.  It usually works out better for me to have the long ride on Saturday rather than Sunday, but all the people who have referred to me as inflexible are just wrong.  I can adapt.  Really, I can.  Most of the time.

But will they be stopping for lunch in the middle of the ride?

Those rides are beginner/intermediate bricks designed for sprint/oly training, not IM-long rides.  So you can a) still do a long ride on Saturday and b) ride to the start, do the ride with the group, have lunch, and still ride home.   The goal here is to get faster at the shorter distances.

The Pasadena Tri Club does longer rides from Sierra Madre Starbucks on Saturdays, all levels welcome.  Stans bike shop in Monrovia also has rides almost every day, riders of various levels.  Pasadena Cyclery has a women's ride Wednesday nights, more social than hammer, and some other rides, including mtnbike.  The Foothill Cycle Club has a full schedule.  Google is your friend here...
