was much easier than i expected. maybe it was all the extra sugar in my system today. didn't make great time, but i was aiming for anything either. did 30 mins on the wind trainer on my dad's old road bike. hopped off (it is easter after all), grabbed the dog and headed out for an easy 20 min run. the dog was already dragging after 1/4 mile, so i turned around, left her on the porch, and did the rest alone. (B: 30m, 8.00 miles (16.00 miles/hr) HR: 150 bpm; T: 2 mins; R: 21m 33s, 1.86 miles (11m 35s/mile) HR: 165 bpm).

i really wonder if years of commuting to work on my bike didn't give my legs some muscle memory for this kind of transition. i wasn't running 5 miles after getting off my bike, but i would often get off my bike and then run up the 2 flights of stairs to the office carrying my bike, then jog to the bathroom, change clothes, walk briskly back to my desk, etc.

brick question: is a 2 mile ride right after a 1000+ yard swim enough to constitute a swim/bike brick?

Don't forget to count "tieing up the dog" as a transition! It's good practice for the shoelace thing.
