Pre-race routine:

Woke up at 5:00am. Took a shower and ate a ClifBar and some strawberries with 12oz of water. Drove to the MARTA station at 6am and was at Lenox Square by 6:45am.
Event warmup:

Did plenty of active stretching because there wasn't any room to take warm-up laps.
Run

Comments:

The first 4.1mi was blistering fast because it was all downhill. Then a long steady hill killed my pace and I picked up about 40s on that section. Two teenage girls choked off my line at the corner of Peachtree and 10th and I lost another 8s. The last mile was all out and I missed my target of 44min, but I'm still very happy.
What would you do differently?:

Save a little bit for the two hill climbs.

Warm down:

Egg and cheese bagel sandwich at Einstein's; two bottles of Powerade, a bottle of Crystal Springs; plenty of stretching and a mid-day nap.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Nothing!

Event comments:

Erica performed fantastic! This was her first race of any sort and her preparation and mental effort was great. We're gonna chill-out, hit Nike Town, see War of the Worlds, and do some drinking at Park Tavern.
