Longer days, warmer days, race season ... probably some big numbers in there, although big is relative depending on where you are in your training cycle and the goals you are working towards.

May 2010 was my biggest training month ever.  Most biking volume in one month ever and most triathlon sports volume ever.  And I feel it!  Last year I was just training for IronGirl which was still 3 months away and it shows in my logs.

Great Month, no school and a steady work load allowed me to reach all goals. I did skimp on the swim a bit towards the end of the month because I had already met my goal, so maybe I should have made a bigger goal. June will be a different month, I'll be lucky to reach half the volume.

I did really well at the beginning of the month, but moving at the end of the month really cut into my training.  I'm all moved into the new place, and only have to clean the old place now.  So hopefully June won't suffer.  I've got E-man coming up, then plan on ramping up the training for IMFL in Nov.

Biggest bike and run (and total) volume for a month since I started tracking here in Oct 09.  Last May I thought I was badass by getting in maybe 5 hours a week of spin class/maybe a weekend bike, short runs that were too high intensity and too low in volume, and somewhat coordinated splashing efforts that slowly propelled me across a pool.  In my second and third OWSs races in May, I swam the entire way with my head out of the water (same as my first, its not efficient but putting my head under water and not being able to see anything freaked me out) and hated every second of it.  I'd like to think I've improved a little since then, if only that I can now OWS with my head in the water.

May was just not good month for me physically.  I was having health issues for the beginning of the month - finally got all that figured out and then crashed my bike at Columbia... now battling hip pain that I am praying will clear up in time for Eagleman..  I miss my bike... CryCryCry
