Champion  19812     MA |  Subject: MN triathletes...looking for a race...impress my familyWe go to MN for a couple weeks to visit my family. We will be in No. MN near Bemidji. My family is impressed with my change in lifestyle from a lazy overweight middle age women (slug) into a much thinner middle age BOPer triathlete. I suggested we find a Tri near them to do while I'm there so they can come support me. I have been unable to find one. Looking for a sprint distance race. Anyone know of any Tris near Bemidji...the weekend of July 30/31? Or Saturday morning August 6th near Minneapolis? We are going to see the Red Sox play (beat) the Twins so will be leaving the cabin and heading to MSP for the Friday/Saturday. Thanks for any leads! |

One site I checked transtion times has only 2004 races listed. It was listed the weekend before on the site -wrong year- and would have worked. |

I checked the local sports mag and there isn't much. The triathlon in Fergus Falls on July 31 is a bit of a drive (140 miles) from Bemidji. The Aug 6 triathlon in Glenwood is too far from Mpls-St. Paul. Probably about 2.5 hours from there, only slightly closer than the Duluth triathlon. |

This is literally only about 15 minutes from the Metrodome. Early morning start. Choice between 5k and HM. Sure, it's "only" running, but.... think about it. Hey! You can show off your swimming skills afterwards... "All participants will receive a free pass to the Richfield Outdoor Pool, located near the finish line."
