Subject: Road Bike to Tri Bike Sizing
Hi, I currently ride a road bike and have never tried a true time trial or tri bike, but I was wondering how accurately my 58cm Trek road bike sizes up next to one. I guess what I mean is that if I went online to buy a TT bike, would I shoot for a 58cm TT frame, or do they size a bit different.
Thanks all,
Bill

Bill, its my understanding that different manufacturers will use different geometries, meaning that buying a 58cm tri bike may or may not fit you, depending on who you are buying it from.  Check out the websites for the bikes you are considering, and read what they have to say.  Usually will tell you if their sizing numbers are comparable to those of a road bike.

Even all road bikes don't all size up the same.  You should try to get fitted before you buy.

From what I've been reading if you are buying from the same company then you would buy the same size bike, if you ride a 58cm trek road bike then you would buy a 58cm trek tri/TT bike. You obviously have to do a little research if you buy from another company. Easiest thing to do is get yourself on a bike to test it out and see how it feels.
