Bought this watch before I read this review. Loving it so far. HRM works perfectly, GPS distance is accurate. I've never lost a signal yet, even on cloudy days. Sometimes it takes a few minutes to acquire the signal, but once it does it doesn't let go.

Here's a pretty good review on it.

Be warned, the watch is pretty massive. It's light, but still looks monstrous on my wrist.

good review...dcrainmaker rulz as usual.

as far as what I read from his review sure sounds like both are almost identical with the 310 having slight edge in terms of current firmware.  i have the 310xt, i really thought this watch would be much slimmer and smaller.

The reason I didn't go with the 310XT is because the of the glass shattering issue. It's pretty common from what I understand. The Global Trainer has a raised bezel.

I'm disappointed to see how big that thing is.  The initial pictures I saw made me think it was more in line with the size of a normal watch.  As it is, I don't see any reason to upgrade from my 305.  Maybe next time around.

Doesn't sound like its very functional for OWS. Next.

One of the many glass shattering threads I found on the 310XT. Also on Amazon.com's website as well.

Yeah, there are a few threads about it.  But, by the same token - there are just as many threads about the 305 being broken when dropped, so it's all relative.

Fwiw, if in Warranty, Garmin will typically swap for free.  If out of warranty - then they'll do a swap for usually $80US.

Excellent review.  I am not a fan of Garmin products and love my Times products. I am ordering the Timex and will work with them through the start up period.
