Arrived (too) early to make sure I wouldn't have trouble with parking.
Event warmup:

Stretched. Stood around. Jogged for about 5 minutes then had a GU Roctane about 15 before the start.

Comments:

Had a fantastic run. Plan was to just run whatever seemed comfortable. I had decided (pre-race) to keep things in check and just do what felt comfortable. Celebration Sprint is in a week (my first tri) and I have a brick planned on the course for Sunday (day after 10-miler). When I started out around 7:00 I know I wouldn't be able to hold but figured I'd just settle into whatever was comfortable. Came around Lake Montebello at 39 minutes and realized I could probably break 80 minutes. I decided to just keep things where as they were and not try to push it. I wasn't really trying to race. I just wanted to do the course again since I did so crappy last year (1:43:51) and as motivate to keep my running mileage up. In the end I set a new PR by 6:38! It may actually be better then that because I've heard rumors that the Cape Henry course was actually about 0.25-0.5 miles short.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Post race
Warm down:

Wandered around. Ran into Brent and chatted bit and eat some fruit. They were handing ReGen. Kinda like chocolate milk. Stretched then headed out.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Nothing. Training, maybe or the face that I have my first real brick workout planned for the day after and my first Tri next week. This was really a C priority race for me. I only signed up so I would be motivated to keep my running mileage up. I'm very happy with how I did.

Event comments:

Well run race. Only down side are the hills but what can you do, it's Baltimore after all. Jacket they gave out for a race premium was awesome.

Performance: Good
39:28 for the first half and 39:41 on the way back. Started out way to fast. First two miles around 7:10-7:15. Up to 7:30 thanks to the first hill between miles 2 and 3 then stayed pretty constant. Felt like I was fading after coming back around the lake. Definitely slowed down the last two miles, 8:30ish.
Course: Starts at Baltimore Zoo. Head out Druid Hills Park, around Lake Montebello and back. First two miles are down hill which means the last two miles are up hill.

Great Job, that's a big chunk of time to knock off in one year.
