When I go out on my road bike I'm getting a pain on the outside of my right knee. I have no problem on the gym bikes, running or cycling to work on my mountain bike.

I have no idea what is causing it. Would bad set up only affect one knee? What would be wrong with the set up to cause knee pain?

Cheers

Are you using clipless pedals? If you are you may have to adjust your cleat underneath your shoe. I think most people find it comfortable if the ball of their foot is over the pedal.
