Very possible.  Will they have race day packet pickup?  Driving in to Lafayette on Sat then come back on Sunday (from Baton Rouge) is a bit more driving then I like.

Might you have your races confused?  I thought the weather was perfect for S-man last year.

Exactly - it was such a nice set up for a post race party that I was disappointed when the rain cut it short.

I realize this isn't the classified, but being I live in the Broussard area and lots of people will be on this thread I figured it was worth a shot.  Contact me if you are looking to sell or know someone interested in selling a used 58-60cm road bike.

Thanks

I think there is a 58cm for sale on the board at Red's.  I'll look again Monday to get more info.  Also, check out Chris Daigle at www.eaglewheel.en.  He had an Independent Fabrication for sale last time I talked to him; I think it was a 60cm.

I'm not the best photographer and my iPhone isn't the best camera, but this is what we're giving as the age group awards:

Thanks guys! It turned out better than I  had a right to expect. Great weather, eh? Even with the wind.

But you guys really have to come introduce yourselves when you're at the same race as I am. Always glad to meet BTers.

John, I had a great time at the race.  Thanks for posting the link to the pictures.  It is nice to be able to get high quality digital pictures without having to pay an arm and a leg for them.

BTW, I was one of the ones that introduced myself to you. I was 181, the Coast Guard guy that flew home the next day.

I am a triathlon newbie and have been training for a few months for this event.  I have to be honest the open water swim has me worried!! The swim is my weak point! Still undecided at this point.

The pond is NOT "very shallow." It is man-made with a shelf around the perimeter where it is about 4' deep, but that shelf extends only about 20'-30' from shore. In the middle of the lake, where most of the swimming will occur, it drops off to 9'-10'. Plenty deep enough for a less-prepared swimmer to get into trouble.

While we do consider our race to be family/spectator friendly we would call ourselves an intermediate-level sprint triathlon, great for those who wish to move from pool races to open water, not so great for weak swimmers. We do welcome "newbies" but ask that they be able to safely and confidently swim the distance while in close company of dozens of other swimmers. Prior open water experience at distances of greater than 500 meters is strongly recommended.

Just as an update, we have less than 80 slots remaining and have already topped last year's record registration numbers.
