Brilliant.

That's pretty cool---I remember last year you could pull up some real time power for "select" riders---but not the big names...

Is there a way to pull up stats from todays race?  Love looking at the sprinters watts. Scary stuff.

surprised they show this stuff, people are quick to throw doping accusations around these days and the wattage these guys can push is really superhuman.

Unless they posted the average and other factors that the power-geeks would know how to interpret, it's fun to look at as a fan, but meaningless scientifically. It'd be hard to assign causes to the power numbers without a comprehensive view.

For instance: During Bert Grabsch's pull at the front for HTC today, he was generating 570 watts more or less continuously for like 15 minutes, with a HR of 189. But at the same time Renshaw was making 240 watts. And one other guy was making 0 watts (presumably coasting) and another was making 177 watts with a HR of 119. All 4 were going roughly 51kph at the time. Hard to interpret anything from that in terms of whether someone is doing something 'superhuman'.

was not trying to imply they seem like dopers if thats the way ot came off. these guys really are super human the wattages they can maintain are absolutely insane, I cant imagine the pain of pushin 600W for 15 minutes.

"570 watts for nearly 15 minutes??!?!?!?!" Holy crap, that puts it into perspectuve doesn't it? Hell, I feel good if I can max watts of 600 in a sprint on my trainer, say nothing about maintaining it for 15 minutes!

Cool stuff. I'll have the check out the link when I get decent internet speed.

Yup 570 for 15 SECONDS and I'm hurting----especially if it was at the end of an almost 100mile day........

Didn't think the above posted meant that they were doping---just that they truly are pros doing what they do---pushing huge wattage for 3 weeks......and drafting very smartly!  I think the wattage of HTC shows that---you pull at 570 then draft at 240 and 0----pretty big drop-offs!
