more open water swim experience, better pull

I am not sure what I was doing. The 250 yard run (or in my case walk) must have been included. That really hurt my feet, and I had to run carefully due to my p.f. injury

Sorry you felt awful but, you finished! Swimming in the Hudson and running through the hills of Central Park are both daunting obstacles for your first Oly.

That's an excellent first Oly time.  That was a tough T1.  Mine was 7 minutes and I actually ran back to the transition area.  That was a tough bike and run course.  Lots of hills.
