What types of shades does everyone wear for training and races?  I need to get a new pair - thinking about something with interchangable lenses.  I'm thinking about Smiths.  Anyone have any recommendations?

I scratch or lose sunnies regularly. Therefore, $20 Boston Bills works great for me!

I  just purchased a pair from Optic Nerve, I just received them on friday and I love them! Here's a link http://www.nerveusa.com/ they are inexpensive yet stylish and they offer interchangable lens as well. It's worth at least looking....

I have a pair of Bolle Micro edge. they have interchangeable lenses, but its an older model. I have the Bolles in a yellow lens and use it for rainy ro cloudy days(i scratched/loss the other lenes). For the oh-so-rare sunny days here in Western Washignton I have a pair of Oakley Splice. I didnt pay full price, I new someone that worked for an optics shop and also my insurance covered a lot of it. But I have been happy with both these pairs, but they are somewhat pricey if youre a sunglass loser.

I have interchangeable ones from Smith.  I got them on sale and I LOVE them.  They are light, comfortable and the ability to change the lenes adds versatility (for different outdoor light conditions).  They look pretty cool too.

in our household, we've gone through 4 pair of smiths in the last 5 years. two pairs were mine (both broke), and two pairs were my husbands (one pair was lost, and the second broke and was then lost - down a pit toilet!). i have a couple pair of non-slider smiths, which are all in great shape. we found some natives on sale at rei-outlet. they have a lifetime guarantee and are just as nice as smiths, if not nicer. dear husband lost his already, but i'm still using mine all the time! i have the dash. husband has now switched to the $10-$20 glasses.

I absolutely adore my Oakley Half-Jacket XLJ's.  Interchangeable lenses and so light I forget I am wearing them.  I've worn them so much for running and biking that I now feel naked without them.  Highly recommended...and pretty cheap too!  Only $100ish for the pair (with lenses).  Extra lenses are either $40ish for non-polarized or $80 for polarized...

I love my Smith Toaster sunglasses (sliders). I bought them last year before the Chicago marathon and I wear them in all my training and races (running, my first tri, etc) and they are great. I love having the interchangeable lenses, so I can switch them out for an overcast day, sunny day, or trail activity.

Oakley Half Jackets are the BOMB.  Lightweight and they fit well with biking helmets or running caps.  The lenses are also interchangeable so if you scratch the lenses you can just get a new pair, or you can switch them out based on lighting conditions.  Absolutely love them.

Anyone tried Rudy Project glasses? I am considering some as I can get a good deal but don't want that to be the deciding factor.

Yes, I have a pair of Ekynox sunglasses and love them (interchangeable lenses, rx insert) The place that I got them from - Tri Outfitter (www.trioutfitter.com) has some of the Rudy Project models on sale right now. So check them out and see if it is anything you like.

I just bought a pair of Tifosi Quam 2.5 off ebay for $25 ($50 retail).

There are some other Tifosi sunglasses on there right now for 1/2 off retail with cleaning and hard case.

When I tried on a pair of Tifosi, I really like the adjustable nosepiece.

After losing more than one pair of Oakley's and Bolle, I have now gone to Ironman sunglasses found at Target. Love them.  4 months and counting...

Yeah, I go with the cheap pairs because I will either lose them or my son will get a hold of them and bend them up or something. It is easier to swallow a $20 replacement cost than a $100.

I've had two pairs of the Ironman glasses from WalMart.  both of them broke in the same exact place.  The rubber part broke right off the plastic part of the (parts that go on your ears....duh?) both times!

Now wearing a pair of Panama Jack sports.  cheepy 7buck ones.
