Subject: What's 2009 Trek 1.5 worth?
My local bike shop has a 2009 Trek 1.5 58cm Road Bike listed at $999.  They said they would knock 15% off it, so $850.  Is that worth it, or still too much?

So far all the reading I've been doing on this, this seems like a pretty nice bike.  I did take it for about a 5 minute spin too, the shifting would take a lot to get used to, but a lot nicer than my 20 or 30 year old schwinn world sports bike, heh.

So what do you guys think about the $850 price?

Your buying a piece of the LBS also, is the first tune free, do they have a good rep...can you talk to them without the prospect of a sale. Does it have 105 group or tiagra , also I'd say he is is still  covering his cost of setup...It's not a Clearance price. It's a great "first"bike....I'm skipping to the "second" bike

They have a good rep, yes.  I'm not sure about the first rune free, I'll have to ask them.
