Subject: RE: Warm-up takes forever??? Cordulegaster - 2010-07-12 1:10 PM Cool name....my first name is Chad and have been called that before! Aren't you worried about injuring a cold muscles/connective tissue? Nope. I don't even warm up during my training. I'm not fast, and I've noticed no difference from warming up for a bit to starting cold. The only exception to that is on occasion I get into a better groove swimming after a few hundred yards. But the vast majority of the time I don't notice any difference in feel, or in time with my swims either with or without a warming up period. It might be different if the beginning of my workout was a legit sprint, but it's not, nor do I see any reason to just go from standing to sprinting. I'm not saying it's the best approach for everyone, but it's what I do, and I've never had a problem with it. |
