Subject: Just orderd the GU sampler box- What is your favorite flavor/type of energy intake
Ordered a box of the GU sampler today to give them a try at my business. I have been a Gatorade fan since I could remember (lemon-lime!) but I am going to give GU a shot.

I have always liked Gatorade lemon-lime, but I have also mixed flavors to spice it up sometimes. Lemon-line + Blue=GREEN deliciousness!

Are there any notable GU flavors or types in the box that I should be excited for or any I should steer clear of?

I love the Gu Mint Chocolate, Jet Blackberry, and Lemon Sublime.  For racing I use Roctane Blueberry Pomegranate or Pineapple.

I love Gatorade Lemon-Lime and Orange...and GU Lemon Sublime and Orange Burst taste the closest to those.  The Orange has caffeine and the Lemon does not, so I switch them out and only use the Orange early in the day/races and Lemon if it is later.

I actually prefer PowerGel 2x, but Gu works just fine (the packets also seem to explode less often).

Plain ol' Gu Vanilla Bean, because it's just like ... errrrm ... aaaaah, uh, .... oh, melted vanilla ice cream. That's it!

My dad has a box of the chocolate GU and he has them in the mornings for breakfast before runs, they taste like pure fudge.  But in terms of running, I usually go with vanilla bean or strwbanana over the other brands because I am able to digest  them quite easily without any liquid.

First choice is definitely chocolate mint, but I also have a thing for chocolate outrage andespresso love.  THe fruity ones are too sweet for me.

Not a GU product, but a gel called Chocolate #9 is pretty awesome.

Of the products listed I really like the GU chomps.

I've tried several, but my favorite is Roctane Blueberry Pomegranate. It has a bit of caffeine in it as well.

No.

But, in the middle of a hot ride / run / race, when you've been busting it and you need some calories, do you really want to wash down "Mint Chocolate" with Lemon Lime Gatorade?
I don't.

I stick with Vanilla because it is the easiest to "meld" with other things.

Dude, were you on my run Saturday?  I washed down mint chocolate with orange gatorade.  While I went for the first swig of gatorade I thought to myself that it might not have been such a good plan.  Honestly though, gatorade of all kinds mainly just tastes sweet to me and not overly flavored one way or another.
