Comments: This was done 2 x weeks following my disc replacement of C5/C6 disc. Neck was bothering me about half-way through the run due to the bouncing. What would you do differently?: Not replace a disc before the event!! Run more. Good run for my condition though! Transition 1
Comments: Equipment was laid out very well and prepared. Had a spot at the very front of the transition area. Winded from run so moving a bit slow. What would you do differently?: Practice Transition to gain some time. Bike
Comments: The bike was my saving event. I had been riding and not so much running prior to this event and I made up some good time here, passing about 15 people who had begun before me. Bike felt very good. What would you do differently?: More peddle time of course!! Need to run the Weekend 19.7 ride course for the hill bricks Post race
Warm down: Stretched and walked out the legs. Sipped water until HR was back down to resting. What limited your ability to perform faster: Brand new disc at C5/C6 that wasn't sure what it was doing other than holding my spine together!! Event comments: For a two event Duathlon without a third follow-on event, this was a good race for my first time out. The race was followed by a chili cook-off and all participants received two free beers although I did not finish the second. Good time and recommended as a near end of the year event.
