Hey guys!

Sorry for the delay the past couple days, I have a bunch of friends in town.

On Sunday evening (Monday afternoon at the latest) please post your actuals on this thread. For some reason my actuals didn't get into the spreadsheet, so hopefully this week we can get everyone in there and have a more accurate picture of where we stand.

I've been trying my best to get inspires out to everyone, and will do it again Sunday when my visitors are gone and I have more than ten minutes to myself.

As for me, I had a great week. Lots of running, and I have a long bike ride scheduled tomorrow.

Keep up the hard work team, we can win this!

Good morning team!! Hope everyone has a great weekend. Plan for me today is to take a ride around Cherry Creek Park - stop in the swim area - maybe do some cooling off in the water - and then ride back home. My daughter said she would go with me - so it should be fun. My dh fixed the tires on my bike yesterday - so I'm on a fresh set of tubes and hopefully won't run over anything sharp this time!! Got a comfier seat cushion and a bike odometer as well - so I'm going to have fun playing with my new toys.

woo hooo..

Go Birds!

I rolled off a nice fun wet and rainy 35 miles that was preceded by a 1250yd OW swim.

That puts me as follows...

Swim: 3349.6 of 10,000 = 33.4%
Bike: 71.05 of 150 = 47%
Run: 18.41 of 50 = 36.8%

Gonna go for a LSD run tomorrow hopefully getting up to around 5 miles. It'll be my longest to date if all goes as planned. I was feeling pretty good about the running since I did lots of it early on but now it looks like I've got some ground to make up.. I guess I'll have to start tacking a couple of miles onto the end of my bikes..

Have a good day tomorrow birds!!!

K...I'm taking tomorrow off - so I'll go ahead and post these now -

Month to date:

Bike: 83.24 Mi of 100miles = 83%
Run: 19.95 Mi pf 36miles = 55%
Swim: 6200 M of 6400 = 97%

I pushed this week since next week I'm going to be gone a LOT doing various vacation type activies :-) I'll get some workouts in - but it won't be the frenzied pace of this week - but have no fear team - I'll make goal - It may be on the 30th - but I'll make goal!!!

Hey guys!

Well, I missed volunteering for the Denver Danskin, had a family problem that needed to be taken care of last night and that lasted until 3am. It's all good now, though.

The upside of all this is, I was so darn frustrated with everything that was happening, I got two really good workouts in the past two days. 50 mile bike ride for me today (my first long ride in about 4 years). It was slow, but my speed is starting to come back. At any rate, here are my totals for July through today (7/17/05).

Swim - 900 yards (36% completed)
Bike - 97 miles (48.5% completed)
Run - 18.5 miles (45% completed)

I will get caught up this week, as I don't have to work as much and the weather is supposed to be a little cooler (at least I hope it is).

Everyone please post your actuals tonight or tomorrow morning so I can get accurate numbers to Renee. Thanks, everyone have a GREAT training week!

Hi Team!

I need updates from Scout, vonholt, and autumn. As soon as I have those I'll send our numbers to Renee.

Midway through the challenge we're looking pretty strong. Everyone keep up your hard work, get to those goals!

Hey team, here is this week's update:

http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/forums/thread-view.asp...

It's on the second page. Looks like we're in a tie for second place, but it looks like there is a mistake in my goal run distance (it says ten miles, my goal is 40 miles). I also never got an update from vonholt, so I'm not sure how his numbers would effect it.

At any rate, keep up the great work!

Hey Team,

How is it going??? I am having a huge workout month thanks to this challenge. I am in great shape on the bike and probably the swim but the run is gonna be tough. I need 19 more miles of running and I have a race next Saturday and Sunday. Tri on Sunday has a 3.1 mile run at the end but I hate to cut it that close. My plan for now is

Today - Speed work 3.5 miles
Sunday - Run 4
Tuesday - LSD 6
Thursday - Light Speed 3
Sunday Race 3.1

I may try to sneak a couple of short runs in between, but I will make it.

Waskelton, you've got the funniest avatar on the boards.  That skit, next to Matt Foley by Chris Farley, was one of the best of SNL.  Nice job on the swim, by the way.

M.E. reminded me that we only have 10 days left. How is everyone doing on their challenge goals? Anyone need a kick in the pants? I have a big training weekend planned this weekend, looking forward to it.

Keep at it, birds, we can do this!

Going into the weekend, here are my stats:

Swim 12200/14000 - 87% complete, hope to have done by Monday
Bike 276/300 - 92% should be done tomorrow
Run 40.2/74 - 74% this will be tough, plan is 4 Sunday, 6 Tuesday, 3.2 on Thursday. I have a bike race Saturday and a tri on Sunday. Hopefully the race will be icing on the goals, but not sure if I can do all that running next week.

This has been a challenging month, but I am glad I stretched my swim and run.
