Packing List? FOR IMKY

Expert  1146    Johns Creek, Georgia |  Subject: Packing List? FOR IMKYDoes anyone have a good list they go by. On an EXCEL spreadsheet. I do IMKY in 4 weeks and Im afraid Im just gonna walk out and leave stuff. If you have done this and created a list , man, I would be grateful if you could send it to me. Also, any pointers on things you wish you had taken and didn't? Thanks, |

FOR IMKY Hah mine's handwritten but I'll give you the laundry list: Bike (duh) Race wheels Spare Tubes CO2 / Multi-tool / tire levers / floor pump Bottles Sunscreen Bike shoes Helmet Sunglasses (2) Hammer Gel / Perpetuem / flasks Tri shirt / shorts Wetsuit Body Glide Running shoes Socks Running jacket (thinking of Coeur d'Alene 2009: <50 degrees) Hat Race belt Pre-race food Electrical tape Cell phone / charger Allergy meds Watch / HR strap Athletic tape Edit: wish I had brought some small containers to put sunscreen into, so I could divide it up across my bike and run bags. FOR IMKY Plenty of good advice out there, I do recommend with your IM packing checklist you do a separate list as to what will be going into each transition bag, ie swim-bike bag, bike-run bag. IMKY also has an early morning clothes bag you put stuff in you wear to the swim start (large bike pumps won't fit). I forgot my socks and Garmin 705 in my bike bag last year, so know I have all my gear bags contents in a checklist. IM is different with the bags (can't get to morning of race usually) so be prepared. Good luck. Jim |

Jim My race day checklist is essentially my packing list; that way I know I'm bringing everything I need. Some of these race day checklists are massive overkill in terms of what to bring, IMHO. Only the kitchen sink is left behind. Mine is only about 20% more stuff than I'll actually use on race day. |
