You mean I didn't really avg 9.8 mph on the bike!!!! Bubble bursters. At least I enjoyed the sunset during my last running mile Wink.
I achieved my goal of finishing my first Oly in under 3 hrs. Those bike hills were more than I expected when I registered, but they were pretty obvious, so I wasn't surprised when my heart visited my throat during those climbs. What drove me nuts was those false flats. At one point I actually looked down my rear wheel...I thought I was dragging a spectator. I was barely hitting 12 mph on places I thought I should be doing 17.
My run was painful. I think my wife was playing with her voodoo doll at home, setting the legs on fire and pocking at them with red hot nails. Fortunately no cramps.
Awesome race though. I wanted to stay for those prices, but when I heard the times for the winners I just rolled into a fetal position, crawled into my car with my tail between my legs and drove home...where Mr Yuengling awaited me.
Sorry I didn't see any of you (except for Jenny). I was the guy with the Champagne balloon marking my T area.
PS: Just checked the bike computer. You are right, apparently it was a little shorter than advertised.

Hah! Fernando - I was racked on the same rack as you! Your Champagne balloon definitely helped me find my rack in T2!

Nope, sorry. My only other race was SheROX in Philly last year.

I thought you might have been a girl that I talked to. How did you like SheRox?

I liked it despite the torrential rain and the race actually turning into a duathlon. I'd do it again, but it seems to always be one week before Steelman

I was there too.  I was the unfortunate soul walking the bike course with a decimated rear derailluer and chain.  I will definitely be back next year to redeem myself.

The short numbers make sense then with the significantly faster bike times compared to last year's results.
