Hey guys, I just wanted to let you guys know I put an Adamo Road saddle on my bike last night, I still have to adjust it up a little bit I think, but I'm already noticing a difference. I was more comfortable throughout my whole ride, minus my sit bones adjusting to it, but being more comforatable I did my best bike ride so far last night. I averaged .6 mph faster than my previous best. 16.6-17.2. That was being tired ( only 4 hrs sleep) and my knee sore too.

Now I know my test isn't exactly scientific, heck maybe I'm just getting faster, but I definately felt more comfortable through the whole ride and my average was actually going up for the second half of my ride vs. normally going down partially due to discomfort.

I will keep you guys updated, but so far I'm attributing it to being more comfortable

you sure it was the saddle?

wasn't the heat, lighter volume week, less wind, you are more trained, maybe you gave more effort or million other reasons?

sounds like i need to go out there an buy me adamo saddle...i am just messin but i hope you get my point...

I want to try out an Adamo saddle for my tri bike after hearing all the good stuff about it.

Hard to tell the results actually meant more speed though.  I've done rides that were exactly the same route and my power meter showed that I put out 25 more watts during ride A than ride B.  Yet ride B was faster speed wise because of less wind.

I've been tempted to give an Adamo a go since I have some MAJOR issues with my current setup. Not to hijack the thread but how long did/does it take to get used to the saddle? And how is it different from what you were riding before?

I cant say my Adamo made me any faster, but I can say it made trudging along much more comfortable.

yeah like i said my test wasn't scientific or anything, could be many things. I'm sure
i am getting better and that has something to do with it as well, but i didnt have that sore spot towards the end, that probably contributed to my easing up at the end on my previos saddle.

So yeah i could probably do the same ride on the old saddle and push through the numbing effect, but being more comfortable certainly makes it easier.

As for the saddle and adjusting to it, yesterday was my first day out, but i have read others it takes abround 100 miles or so for your sit bones to get use to it. The feeling i had on my sit bones adjusting to it was less of a pain then the sore bottom area i used to get

i have an Adamo Racing saddle and it is for real.  It may not have made me faster but it sure allows me to stay down in aero position a lot longer b/c of the comfort.   It may take 3 or 4 rides until your sit bone adjust to the different pressure points but after that it is such a comfortable ride!

Do they make a saddle specifically for tri bikes, that are more comfortable while in aero position?

I think you have to find what works for you.  Unfortunately, the Adamo saddle and the fast forward seat post didn't make the difference for me.  I got a professional fitting and the guy was amazed at all the tweaking I did trying to find the best fit on my own and he said I should have first come to him and I would have saved a lot more money.  However, if you want to try the adamo saddle and fast forward seat post, I will soon be putting those up for sale.   To each their own!   Good luck!

I love the road saddle for my P2.  I'm thinking of getting the Cobb for my roadie, just to see if I like it as well or better.  I really wish I could test out an Adamo race saddle.  If anyone knows of a place that offers a demo program, let me know.  I know I can exchange the Cobb if I need to.  Don't know about the Adamo.

Sorry for the mini-jack.

Another Adomo lover here.  It has made a HUGE difference on my long rides and highly recommend them.  Jeff, they offer demos of a few different Adamo saddles at Tri Sports.  I'd recommend the "racing" for anyone doing the longer distances.

the san marco seat that came with my cervélo is killing me. I saw the adamo seat for women and it looks comfortable. I don't want to ride until I get a new saddle. glad to see the positive comments about the adamo

I bought the Adamo road saddle the day before my last race, and I pulled the king of all NO No's.  I rode it in the race after making a few adjustments while riding a grand total of about a half mile.

The good news.....absolutely no problems with the saddle at all!  I had a PR race and a PR bike at the same time.  I was able to ride an extremely rough course for an Oly distance ride and had no numbness issues that I had been experiencing for almost all of my rides.  My sits aren't used to the feel just yet but I can tell I am getting used to it slowly.  I have had a total of 3 rides on the new seat, but I think it will be great once the sits are in good shape.

I found the Cobb to be a bit narrower, which was a better fit for me, personally.  But both brands were a major relief compared to other saddles I've ridden on.  I'm referring to my tri bike / aero position, though.

I Don't ride an Adamo but I know many who do.  I can't say the saddle increases any top speed, but if a rider is more comfortable on their bike, and can stay in their most efficient riding postion longer, then one could assume the biker will maintain higher speeds longer, thus experiencing faster times over given distances.  It's part of the equation and reason for having a good bike fit.

Hijack alert

I ride the cobb v-max plus and it has made me faster......because, I ride so much more than I used to since my undercarriage is no longer killing me. I actually can't wait to get on my bike now.

This was the final piece in my bike fit and I can't overemphasize how much of a difference it has made in my riding. I had the selle seat that came with my bike and I dreaded every ride. Switched to the cobb with immediate comfort and ability to stay aero for long rides. Also, their return policy makes getting a cobb just like a demo program.

I've said it before and I will say it again. This was the best money I have spent yet in triathlon.

I am sure that the adamo results are similar.

I know pure roadies turn their nose up at the Adamo saddles, but I seriously don't think I could ever go back to traditional saddles after all this luxurious comfort.

Maybe I don't ride enough, but I still have some discomfort on mine some days, and I've ridden it 8-9 times now.
