Subject: How much fitness lost in 2 weeks?

I had an episode of heat exhaustion 2 weeks ago today while biking, and another episode that Friday (3 days later) while running. Since then, I have gone to the gym once (elliptical) and swam once, yesterday. There is a tri this Sat. I'd love to do--I'm going to go running again tonight and see how it goes (AFTER the sun is almost down!), bike tomorrow.

Anyone have experience w/heat episodes? How much fitness did I lose w/those 2 weeks basically off? How long did it take you to recover?

there are just too many variables to give you a solid answer...

anything from coming back stronger than you were to a bit of fitness lost...

not enough to be a disaster for sure.

I wouldn't be as worried about how much fitness was lost as much as understanding why you experienced heat exhaustion (or is that really what it was?)

I'm pretty sure I didn't hydrate enough the night before and the morning before I rode, and it was already 90 at 9a.m. when I went. I'd had coffee that morning, not much to drink the night before, when I looked back.

What else would it have been, though, really?? All the symptoms match.
