Just curious - what do they serve at the welcome dinner? I am assuming some kind of pasta.
I have heard the dinner is pretty inspirational, what do you veterans think?

Thanks,
Eric

I did the one in Louisville last year. It is buffet, pasta, rolls etc. just what you would expect. "The voice of IronMan" mc's. Some inspirational stuff but then the marshals of the different parts explain rules, aid stations, routes etc.. I found it worth while as it was my first and will go to it on Friday (WOW it is THIS Friday). I am not sure it is worth the cost to bring guests but if it is first and possibly last I say go for it.

Food-wise, there is pasta, with choice of meatless or meat-type red sauce.  Salad.  I didn't find it spectacular, but it was okay.
They also serve up a mean dose of inspiration, and some rules of the race, etc.
For the 1st-timers, it's well-worth being there.
For the "old-timers", the camaraderie is there to enjoy.
