Subject: hole in my DeSoto 400 shorts - help!!

So, major  Bummer!

I'm planning on wearing these for MOO (which is SUNDAY!!).  I squatted down to put my pump onto my tire and snagged my bum on the front of my car...?  (how this happened, I still don't know) Anyway, this ended up ripping a hole right in the middle of the left butt cheek!  grrr!  it's about the size of a quarter.

So, my question is this:  does anyone have any experience mending this type of material?  (DeSoto 400 mile shorts) Can I just sew it together? or should it be patched or something?  I have no sewing experience, so should I be bringing it to a seemstress to fix?

OR should I just go with the hole there?

I'd appreciate any input ASAP - I'm kinda freaking out about this as MOO is THIS WEEK! eek!

Thanks for your help!!!

Call up Emilio at DeSoto sports and ask him.
I've never heard a complaint about their customer service....

Let us know how you fix this.  I just got a pair of these about a month ago and love them.  No holes in them yet but you never know.

You've only got one option...carve out a hole on the other side to make those shorts symmetrical!
Symmetry is very important.

Black sharpie??

If you've got some old jammers or bike shorts, you can probably cut a patch and sew it in place on the inside.  Just try to get the tension on both materials about the same.

I alled customer service -they basically told me to sew them up, then after the race, send them back to DeSoto and they will patch it for me.

Sounds good to me - as long as i don't have a hole in my butt, I'm happy.  And they will be prof patched after and should last me a good long time.  gives 'em character i guess....
