I keep thinking about this, don't think she'd approve after just getting a carbon tribike last month and a mountain bike back in July. But anyway here it is. Fuji SST 3 msrp $2659.99 on closeout for $1650.

What kind of a tribike did you get last month? Just want to get an idea how far you're pushing it.

Those are sweet bikes!  I'm torn between that and a Cervelo S1.

My wife just balances any purchase I make with an equal one of her own.  So I have to double the price of anything I buy to know how much it's going to cost me.

I was in the same boat having bought an expensive Mountain bike.  6 months later I wanted to get a tribike as well.

I feel your pain.

Yes red is the fastest, that's wy my Tri bike is red as well. I spent about $1750 on it last month, and the mountain bike I got was a good deal too, only $400 for it.

I'll just wait till next year's closeouts and try to find something. I sold some stuff from my other hobby to pay for most of the Tri-bike.

The theory thats she get's something too, I guess that is true, she got a new digital camera right before I got the bike.

I could swing it but we have a few other large purchases coming up; new frig, getting a freezer, carpet in one room, some electrical work being done, just had to have 3 trees cut down, along with a few out of town trips coming up.

I guess it would probably be best to hold off for now, but man it'd be nice.

If the wife's not happy, you won't be happy.  Definitely not worth it!

I'm such a party pooper.

Not that there's anything wrong with the Fuji- but bike technology moves fast.  $1650 for that bike is a reasonably good deal- but really- it's priced about where it should be for what it is.

The SST is a sweet looking frame with beautiful aero styling, but it comes in at about 1600g for the frame and fork.  That's twice the weight as a Scott Addict (OK, they're a bit more money), but still- it's a pound heavier than it needs to be.

Perhaps I'm giving too much priority to weight- but if you're moving to carbon, weren't you expecting it to be light?
