I did my first 10k yesterday, I did my first tri last weekend so a lot of firsts! Anyway I ran it in 53:10 and took 2nd in my division. It was age group,no Athena class. Just 10 months ago I was morbidly obese and found stairs challenging, its a wonderful life! Here is me and my second place trophy, my first hardware. And I was wearing the race shirt from my first tri last weekend.
with my 2nd place trophy

That is stellar. 10 months from morbidly obese to awards in a 10K -- a WELL sub-1:00 at that? CONGRATULATIONS!

Thanks! Its been quite a ride, and I will NEVER go back to the 300 pound woman I once was. I am so happy I found tri's and races, it keeps me on track and keeps me training. I have worked hard these past 10 months, and I will continue to work hard now that I'm at maintenance weight. I absolutely love my new life, my second tri is in 10 days, and I am just counting down the days!
