Subject: BEST TRI BIKE BRAND TODAY?

Would love to hear everyone's opinions on THE BEST TRI BIKE (or brand) TODAY (2011 Models already rolling out...Interbike 2010 just finished)?

Regardless of price, regardless of components, regardless of tri experience......although feel free to expand on your answer in greater detail (exact model,
components, wheels, etc) if you wish. I under'stand "BEST" can have a thousand meanings...but Who's tri bikes, across the whole line, are considered the best?

So, in general, WHO MAKES THE BEST TRIATHLON BIKES on the market today?

The best Tri bike is the one that fits you.

I'm guessing this isn't what you want to here (and honestly you come across as if you are doing marketing research) but they all have pros and cons. The best bike in the world is worthless if it doesn't fit you.

I agree with Dave, this post is screaming marketing research and the answer to the question is "the one that fits you".

Shagadelic45, how about filling out a post on the "Introduce Yourself" page, and perhaps filling out a profile?

Whoever makes the one that fits you best.

Are you noticing a pattern here?

OK, I'll play.

Gary Fisher Capitola hybrids, retrofitted with road tires and aerobars.

Seriously, though, whatever brand fits and whatever brand you can afford.

I give OP an A+ for effort, but only a C in execution.

Posted in tri talk, this would have been an excellent troll thread with only minimal prodding.

I mean... obviously the P4 is the best... (like this)

I had an orange Huffy 10 speed from junior high.  Bike was 20+ (may be 30+) years old.  Every once in awhile it went to the shop, cleaned up, and rode for awhile.  Gave it away a year before I started Tri's.  Mistake!!!

So my vote is 1970's Orange Huffy 10 speed.

graceful_dave - 2010-09-30 11:49 PM The best Tri bike is the one that fits you.

The one? Any bike will fit you. they come in different sizes and seat posts can move and stems can be swapped out.

Now that we know all bikes fit, what next?  What does fit say about what makes one bike suit you bettter?

If you need 1cm of extra spacer on bike A compared to bike B, should you always get bike B?

What is bike A is profoundly more aerodynamic than bike B?  Probably should still go with A despite the extra cm of spacer right?

Don't get too hung up on fit. Making the bike fit is important, and sometimes a given frame just won't work well for you.  If you don't plan to get low or have short upper arms, a Cervelo P3 or Shiv probably is not going to work, for example. the stack is too low. But don't let bike shops use fit as a way to sell you the bike they want to get rid of instead of the one you want.

So, anyway the best bike is the P4 at low yaw angles, and the speed concept and shivs at higher yaw angles. Maybe
