Subject: RE: Fall Frenzy (Parker, CO) - Bike Setup Kupe du Monde - 2005-07-27 3:00 PM Now, I acutally have ridden the course a few times, but still thought I'd ask. Those of you who have done this race before, do you prefer a road setup or a tri setup? I know it's hilly, in which case I wouldn't imagine an aero setup being more advantageous if you're always going back and forth. I will be doing this race on my tri bike. I haven't ridden it (yet), and I don't have a road bike. If you train in the aerobars, why wouldn't you use them? I've got a 5% grade on the hill leading to my house - I typically stay tucked coming up it. I've noticed a speed difference of about 1mph if I stay low (it's a residential canyon - the slightest breeze picks up a lot through there). Just ballparking, but that would be what, about 7-9 minutes time savings over the Fall Frenzy course? That could be the difference in 5th, or 15th place... |
