Now, I acutally have ridden the course a few times, but still thought I'd ask.   Those of you who have done this race before, do you prefer a road setup or a tri setup?  I know it's hilly, in which case I wouldn't imagine an aero setup being more advantageous if you're always going back and forth.  Just some food for thought.

Thanks!

HA. I'm doing this race. On my MTB.

Oh well, I'm just looking to have a good time at my first tri!

I will be doing this race on my tri bike.  I haven't ridden it (yet), and I don't have a road bike.  If you train in the aerobars, why wouldn't you use them?  I've got a 5% grade on the hill leading to my house - I typically stay tucked coming up it.  I've noticed a speed difference of about 1mph if I stay low (it's a residential canyon - the slightest breeze picks up a lot through there).  Just ballparking, but that would be what, about 7-9 minutes time savings over the Fall Frenzy course?  That could be the difference in 5th, or 15th place...

I have done the race the last two years on the same bike.  It is road geometry but I have it slammed forward.  Anyway, it is hilly, but it has nice downhills and some flats.  I would go with what ever you are training on.

The only real hill to speak of is up Chambers, so if you have climbed in your Tri set up and find that it works fine, go with that. The rest are small inclines, not really climbs so it wont really matter. I use a road bike with Aero and have ridden that course a bunch of times...works fine also.
BTW- nice to see some folks here doing the race...its my first!
