Walked the course with my 5 year old daughter. She had to stop once to go potty 5 minutes in even though she went 15 minutes before we started. Once I gave in to the fact that this race was about spending time with my daughter and not about how fast we could go it went great. I then spent time encouraging her rather than fuming inside about not being able to go faster. The last 2 miles were a lot more fun for me than the first once I decided to be positive instead of negative.
