Howdy, everyone. Came accross this web site and found some great information, so I figured that I would join in on the conversation. Decided back in June to race my first Triathlon. I signed up for the Nyon Triathon (Classic Distance- www.trinyon.ch) which is in about 10 days. We'll see if I signed up for more that I can chew (or swim, bike and run). Cheers.

Welcome to BT, and good luck on your first tri next weekend.  If you are like most around here, you will find it very addicting after you finish your first race.  I hope you post a race report when you have finished your race next week.  If you do stick around, you will find this site extremely helpful with tips and answers to any questions you might have.

Not too sure if I am ready. Ran a duathlon yesterday (800m swim / 5K run) to see if I was ready. I did OK, raced a 31:18 (32 / 88 overall). But the swim was brutal - people slapping, punching, kicking - it was rough. Got my goggles knocked off a few times. What is it with these Swiss people - I thought they were supposed to be gentle and reserved! On top of that, when we exited the water we had a 500 meter up hill climb. ugh. Who is the manic who set up this course.

Next weeks Triathlon (olympic) will run pretty much the same course. So I hope I have some home field advantage. Any advise on the swim? Good thing I had a wetsuit. BTW, cut my foot on the exit and had to get some butterfly stiches. Nice start to triathloning.

Thanks for the note. Cheers.
