Eileen Steil, once a mentor here (see her mentor thread), is going to be one of two women in the world doing the Double Deca Ironman (28 days) in November.

Information can be found on her website at:
http://www.eileensteil.com/ and

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TP-9KZMbhwc

Wish her luck!

I don't know whether to laugh or cry. Little jealous though.

Thank you Ron! The team and I are requesting prayers/thoughts and any extra strength anyone has to be sent to Mexico stat.

Will log back on here right before I leave, and promise to answer any odd questions you might have. I am issuing a 28 day challenge to coincide with the event (in case anyone needs a bit of a motivator to take you into the holidays!). Also if any kid groups want to follow along, and any children group located within 3-5 hr drive of Atlanta I will come speak to their group after the event as a guest (school/girl scout/ boy scout), just please get in touch with me and I'll make it personal for them during the race at some point. We'll be doing a very bush league video of the event hopefully every other day on the actual website. Going to need that break from the monotony of all those horrid laps.

As for crying or laughter, well both of course, sometimes (and OFTEN) together! I am very scared.

Sorry I haven't been on in - well ages - but I stay in touch with most of the GA community as so many of you utilize my massage practice...I've learned so much from them, its those memories that will get me through the walk down the deep dark path. Much love to you guys and gals!!!

Also --- anyone, and I do mean anyone even remotely thinking of an ultra, of any distance, you truly NEVER know until you go. Obviously being smart and getting checked by a Dr. first and following a sound training program are all part of the steps. I started from struggling with a 20 mile bike ride (man that hurt) and remember that road...its long, and doable. Believing in oneself long after everyone else has cashed in the chips on you, thats what gets you to the start line, and often a finish line. Once you give up hope on yourself though, man you better have the best support system jump on you.

Good luck Eileen. I know you don't need it, though. You will do great.

I never did thank you for your help during the triple, but thanks!!!!

Good luck to you, you are truely an inspiration to me and proof that you can do anything if you are willing to work hard enough for it.  I wish all participants in this event a safe 'race', and hope they enjoy every second of it.  Please never stop believing in yourself and keep challenging yourself so you can continue to provide inspiration to me and future generations of people like me.
