having watched all the episodes now I am enjoying it. In any movie situation there will always be these little issues of what you would do/should do/could do that we as outsiders think but I realize it is a show and the producers and writers have to twist it enough to keep the action up along with staying true to the source material.

Personally I am most curious about when Morgan (guy from the first episode in ricks neighborhood) is going to show up. I want to find out what happened to him and his boy. It also seems like the infection time frame is quite long compared to other genre films. the sister was probably lying dead for 8-12 hours instead of the minutes most shows have between death and undeath. Definitely hoping more is revealed next week. My biggest complaint so far is that new episode time slot,  10 pm on a Sunday night? really people have to get up to work/work out the next day!

OK I found a way to watch itt here in London. Amazon.com sells each episode for $1.99. But you can only access it from a U.S. IP address. A couple weeks ago I was online chatting with a customer service rep from the cable company and she said I was talking to her frm the U.S. No, I wasn't, and she said `Oh well your computer has a U.S. IP address.' BRILLIANT!!!

So I like it. It's good. It's just the right amount of creepy and scary yet heartwarming so it's not all gratuitous violence and blood and guts. A few things I don't like. First it moves a little slow at times. Like the scenes after the sister died -- get on with it already. Yeah it's her sister she feels bad and blah blah blah but c'mon, I gots things to do. And as someone said, why not get a vehicle that works. I'm sure there's no shortage of abandoned vehicles out there, preferably something that's not such a gas-guzzler. And yes, I thought `Pick up the SAW and have a little anti-dead personnel fun.

But, willing suspension of disbelief it is.

Just found this thread.  I am really enjoying this series.  The episode last night I thought was outstanding.  For some reason I thought the brother who cut off his hand had something to do with the zombies showing up in camp. I guess I was wrong.  I am sure we have not seen the last of him.

Morgan comes back way later into the comic book series; However, Robert Kirkman stated the show won't necessarily follow the comic book, which makes sense when you read some of the horrible stuff that happens in the comic book.

In the comic they didn't go to the CDC, I'm assuming they wrote it this way to give us a little hope for them if it didn't get picked up for another season.

Also those machine guns didn't do the army much good what makes you think a bunch of civilians could operate huge machine guns or clear out a jam in the case they were jammed.

RedShark - 2010-11-29 7:14 PM Still loving it - though a MAJOR flaw

In episode 2 where they put zombie guts and blood on them they are all concerned about getting blood on their skin or eyes.

In the last 2 episodes they aren't worried at all - Earl (i think) with the pick ax has blood all over it and resting it on his head, the girl with her sister doesn't worry about her sisters blood, etc etc.

Also - they better do a good job expaning why only 1 is left at the CDC, that doesn't seem to make any sense at all.

I don't really see that as a flaw, just a "better safe than sorry" attitude.  Plus, it was Rick who said that, and he had been in a coma for several months and would be the least "educated" about contamination routes.

I remember Rick saying in episode two about making sure they don't get the blood on them...and having Glen and himself wearing long trenchcoats.

I loved the episode on Sunday night. Did anyone get a good look at Darryl when the woman (forget her name) was smashing her husbands head. It was sort of a 'I'm not messing with that woman' look. The scene with Andrea and Amy was also very well done. One thing with this show it makes you think 'what would I do in this situation.'

I think next week, they'll tie up some lose ends since this is only season one and they weren't sure that they were going to be greenlit for a season 2. So far the show is great, and what's awesome about it, while all these other shows are trying to be another Lost, BSG or 24, they are doing their own thing.

Aaaaaaand they fired all of the writers:

http://www.vancouversun.com/entertainment/Walking+Dead+writing+staff+fired/3915627/story.html

Based upon article, it doesn't seem like the staff writers did much that ended up on TV anyways. The head guy either wrote everything himself or used freelance work.

Ok final show.  But when they left the CDC, I think I would have pilfered all the military vehicles that were nearby.  Look for Jerry Cans, cases of MREs,  Weapons.   Might have traded a couple of their crappy civilian vehicles for a Humvee or Deuce.

And Merle is still out there somewhere with only one hand.

They only had a few minutes to get out. The way the cut the scene made it seem like they had longer. Personally I don't think I would be thinking that soundly to check with only a couple of minutes to spare to get out. Actually I think I would have kept running past the cars not knowing the blast radius.

Plus I think the crappy civilian vechicles would get better gas mileage than a Humvee or Deuce.

So any theories about "The Whisper"?

We might find out in Fall of 2011 (Yeah, Thanks AMC, that is a longer hiatus than "Lost" was)

I enjoyed the final episode of this season but am hoping it comes back sooner. I like that we finally, sort of got a little more information about the plague and how it works though not necessarily what it is or what causes it. Glad that AMC is doing this correctly though.

Thought the last episode was bland and not much action.  FYI, if you are in Zombieland, do not get drunk to the point you can't stand, at any time you may need to run.

The blonde with the sister who died, cant think of her name, what's up with her getting sick?  To much wine?  Preg herself? The Fever?

Oh, and don't think the walkers and Merrill didn't hear that explosion.......RUN!

Just and FYI, if a body, regardless if Zombodiezied, does not get water and food to fuel what muscles powers the legs and jaws, well then RM sets in, they deterioate, dry up, and crumble.  But wait, its a movie, darn Zombies, come back every time!

I agree the finally was pretty bland, although i was happy to learn about the outbreak. I really hope they didnt make her preggers, thats drama the story doesnt need, really it is a show about zombies that will provide enough. Where do you guys think they are going to head from here? I think fort benning like the other guy had planned.

I thought the finale was arlight...they did what they needed to do in case they didn't get picked up for another season.

The shots of the 'CDC' were actually the Cobb Energy Performance Arts Center which is right down the road from me and across the street from the gym I work out at. So...if you are wondering if that is what the 'CDC' looks like..sorry to disappoint you.

This is correct. Shane would already be dead. He didn't make it out of the camp.

You can pick up the series at your local Barnes and Nobel. I picked up the first book. It is pretty good and they are completely separate stories.

If you are going to get it, do pick it up at a comic store. Support the independant stores!

The show has diverged from the comic, but also come back to it a bit. It seems to follow the comic in the broad strokes (Andrea's sister Amy still dies, Rick's wife is pregnant, and several other broad strokes.)

Plus, it's just a really good series, even if it isn't exactly the same. Basically, if you like the show you'll like the comic. And look at the plus side, by reading the comic you won't be totally spoiled for what happens on the show.

Although Lori is in fact pregnant in the comic book, and there is the general assumption it is Shane's rick tries not to dwell on it... There is a certain trip back to the camp site though.

As far as the whisper that the doc gave him I doubt it was your wifes pregnant cause as I doctor I'm pretty sure he would have told her and she would have avoided the wine. Also I'm not positive but he probably wasn't looking at the blood very closely probably a quick glance under the microscope to see if the virus was present.

I have a feeling it is going to have something to do where they head next. Many of the writers can't wait till they make it to the prison so the theory is next season that's were they end up.

It would be nearly impossible to find a virus that way.  Maybe if he was using a scanning electron microscope, but that would be a lot less efficient than running some lab test that reacts in the presence of the virus/contamination.

You and I need to watch movies together and we can finally banish all the bad science from Hollywood!

The first thing I'm going after is the battle sounds in space during any Star Wars movie...
