Subject: recomends on good winter running shoes
Winter is setting in here in Utah and I would like to keep up running outdoors when I can. It gets cold and sometimes a bit mucky here. I have yak tracks for the icy conditions but would like to know if there is a shoe out there that holds up better for winter running-ie cold, slush, etc.

I have these trail-running shoes:

Pair something like those with a pair of gaiters, and you should be good to go.

I actually ran in them for the first time yesterday. They were awesome at keeping stuff out of my shoes!

Thanks-I do have a pair of solomon trail shoes and already have several pairs of gaiters and have not thought of running in them-I will give it a try. Right now enjoying a bit on indian summer after a spat of bad weather

I do lots of running in the winter and I just run in my regular trainers.  I do have a few pairs of trainers so if a pair so I can let a pair dry out if need be but otherwise, I've never had an issue with running in my normal shoes all winter.  I did get a pair of YakTrax a few years ago for icy conditions but I've never actually had to use them.
