If I hadn't got sick today, I'd have killed the bike miles.  It doesn't look good for tomorrow's run, either.  However, since my boss is 'forcing' me to take some time off, I shall have plenty of time near the end of the month to catch up on any short goals...

Joe,

I can hear the pitter-patter of feet behind you...Was that you smoking on your bike when Nancy passed you?

Getting sick really sucks. Get better so you can really hammer at the end of the month. You are the man.

Hi Everyone!!

I have a big workout week and after reviewing what is planned and what I have done already...I think I should make all three goals this month!! I was sweating the bike....but it should be doable.

This week: Swim 75 min, Bike 345 min, run 155 minutes

What I need after the above workouts to make my goals:
Swim 20 min,  Bike 60 min, run 0

How is everyone else doing?

Hey Team! Here's what we look like as of this AM...a couple logs may not be up to date, so if yours aren't, please update them. Also...it looks like several of us are sick or recovering from being sick. We want to kick @ss in the challenge, of course, but don't let that make you do more than you should. First priority should be getting/staying healthy!

I added 20 miles to my bike last night, so I will hit my bike goal. I am tapering this week, so this will be a low volume week. Anything I have left I will get next week. Nothing like hitting your goal on the last day of the challenge.

Whew -- this challenge, just like last month's -- has helped me keep my volume up. Saturday is my last race of the season, so the motivation has been helpful.

Yeah, I was one of those fallen team members due to being sick with a cold for a week.  There’s no way I’ll be meeting my goals for the month, but I’ll be putting in the workouts up until the end to get as close as I can.  Unfortunately I lost a key week there.  I’m trying to figure out how to recover my training plan.  I guess it’s a good thing it’s a 20 week training plan.  The “big picture” of the plan should outweigh small hiccups like this.  Still, the race is at the end of Oct, and I’m still nervous about it.

I'm afraid I'm also going to be a fallen team member, as I'm resting/tapering for Sunday's race... I've got a short run tonight, so that will assist with the numbers, but theres no way I'll ever make my goal of 50 running miles!!! I'm so sorry. I MAY wind up making my swim goal...

Had a motivational breakdown midway through this month, then I've been racing every other week for 6 weeks, starting 8-14-05. ***SIGH*** I will do the best I can. I just overshot my goals for this month.

GO TEAM HOSS ROD! GOGOGOGOGO (despite me!)

WHiz, how come you couldn't have experienced the same lack of motivation during the Bike Lots challenge? I would have $20.00 more in my pocket!

People, this challenge is not designed to beat yourself up over. If you miss your goal, it shows that it was truly a stretch goal and it challenged you. I say keep up the good work and hold your head high!

If all goes according to my plan for the last 4 days of the month, it looks like I should exceed my swim goal, make my bike goal and miss my run goal by just a bit.  Do we take the average of the three together to get our percentage?  If so, I should be pretty close to 100%.

Thanks for all the encouragement and support this month with training and my first tri!

The rules are in another thread...but how I remember you count as meeting your goal or not...full credit or no credit for each of the three.

Can you add some more run time? I'm short on the bike due to seeing an extra Red Sox game (they won) and missed a long bike...I need over 2.5 hours by the end of the month...I'll add 30 minutes to the next two days..and there I'll make it.

Keep up the good work everyone...3 more days!! Remember we want to be FOP not MOP or BOP!!

It seems as if I can't stop riding my bicycle... Like that Queen song! "I want to ride my BICYCLE... I want to ride my BIIIIIIIIIIKE..." I can't stop riding my bike. Which is great if I were a cyclist, however, I'm supposed to be a triathlete.

Anyway, my Sunday race totals are up, so they should help a bit with our team totals. GO HOSSROD!!!

I just updated my logs from Monday and today -- much closer to goal than before. I will hit my numbers by end of day tomorrow. I wanted to rest after my last race of the season but it looks like I will put in a high effort until the end of the month so I can reach my goals. THEN I can rest.

Great job Mike!!!  Anyone else going to make the 100% club?

As long as the pool is open tomorrow I will make my swim and I plan on getting a good ride in tomorrow to make my biking goal.  Unfortunately, there is no way I will make my run unless I run 12 miles tomorrow - and that is not going to happen!  A little disappointing but, overall, I am happy with my effort this month.

One day to cram a last bit of training in tomorrow!  GO HOSSRODDERS!

Great job Mike!

Unfortunately, being out for a key week with a cold made my goals unobtainable for this month.  I've got a bike ride planned for this evening as my last workout, so I should be at a total average of 62%.  BUT...even with loosing an entire week, I swam 7300 yds and ran about 7 miles more than last month!  So I'm pretty happy about that.

I'm so ready for Aug to be over so that I can kick butt in Sept!
