Out of curiosity, around what time would I have to do a HIM in to have a good shot of qualifying for clearwater. I would be in the 18-24 AG. Just wondering if qualifying clearwater spot is a reasonable goal for eagleman...

At Eagleman, you're looking at mid to low 4 hrs for a slot.  It's a fast and flat course.

In *General*, High 4:30 - low 4:40 will get you a slot at most races in most competitive male Age Groups.

Remember, though, that Clearwater is no longer the 70.3 championship race.  The 70.3 championship race will be in Las Vegas beginning in 2011.

Yep, and the smart money is that the roll-down will not be anywhere near as kind as the past couple of years.  It would be difficult to compare to previous years.  But, you could just check the top 5-10 in your AG at given races and go off that as a proxy.

add to what has already been said- you are in a small age group where less slots are avaliable

Yeah I am guessing too that the 70.3 championships will become a much bigger draw now moving to Vegas. Still nowhere near the likes of Kona but we probably won't see ridiculous roll down slots like Clearwater has seen.
