lobstergirl - 2005-08-02 8:24 AM I drive a 2004 Honda CRV EX.  The seats tumble up, leaving room for the bike and all the gear.  (Or on non-bike days, the hound dog walks around back there).  Roofrack for skis works well.  Love the all-weather mats that keep sand/mud/rain/riverwater/dog hair, etc. off the floor.  Just hose 'em down!  And it comes with a card table that fits underneath the back storage compartment (great for side of the road picnics.  A huge step up from my last vehicle (a 1988 Toyota Cressida - white with red velour seating and zero storage).

I also drive a 2004 Honda CRV EX- love it!  It's nay blue, so my beautiful USAT sticker and 26.2 sticker look great sported on the back window.  My back seats are always folded down and has become a permenant storage place for my bike and all my gear.  Compared to larger SUV's, it's gets decent gas milleage.

Mitsubishi Montero Sport. I got the car way before training for triathlons but it is a great thing I have a SUV. Ever since I started training my back seat has been permanently folded to give room to my bikes.

Here's my Scion xB.  I love it.  Great MPG, can fit my bike and my surfboard in there, and it's a lot of fun.

Explorer Sport. I need a new one, I was leaning towards an Accord, or Cooper, something like that. However, I am now looking at SUV's again just so I'm not cramped with all my gear and bike in a little car.

Any info/reviews on Xterras?

Do you have tri stickers on the back of it? If so, I think I ran past it the other day near Mellow Mushroom on Monroe. I drive an '01 Dodge Ram 1500.

LMAO!!! When was this? I definately frequent that joint. I live right down the street. Dang it, I got caught at the pizza place!

I have always been a small car/truck person.

Currently I have a Honda Insight Hybrid (it's a 2-seater with barely enought room in the back for a bike sans wheels, but it worked just fine to haul all my gear to my first Wildflower Tri a few years ago). It gets better than super gas mileage (65 miles to the gallon on the road) and runs very clean. I also have a Toyota pickup truck that makes more sense for hauling gear and finally, this year we broke down and joined the SUV crowd.

Got a Toyota Highlander, complete with awesome navagation system and 4-wheel drive. A rear hitch, swing-out, Yakima bike rack was a must. I have sure enjoyed traveling in that kind of comfort and the Hybrid balances out my gas-guzzling SUV guilt.

Sold my 2002 BMW 325i for my 2004 Chevy Silverado Z71 Extended Cab.....just fold up the back seat and the Felt just rolls right in!!

Chris

The xB is easily the best of the bunch there, with the Corolla pulling a second.  The Prius is awesome, don't get me wrong, but you won't find a new one for under $28,000 after dealer markups right now and you'll only save about $200 a year on gas over the Scion or Corolla.  I'd avoid the Hyundai, but that's just me.  They've gotten a lot better but definiately not on par with Toyota or Honda.

I like what you said..."It's so ugly it's cool."  I said almost the same thing verbatum about my car in a magazine interview a few months ago, and it's so true.

Hmmm... Funny, I've actually had lots of car issues lately...

I just gave up my white 2dr civic w/ 206,000 miles 2 weeks ago for a brand new Subaru WRX wagon. Its very fun. I had it for 10 days and someone changed lanes into me but its all better now.
