Well the latest day care bug has swept through my house in grand fashion. I am hitting the training hard this week because I am guessing I probably only have 1-2 weeks before the next one hits!!!

I haven't had time to check out everyone's training progress, some are just machines while others just seem to do what they can. I know I seem to be the latter.

Personally my running is starting to come good, I should be right for 5 min/km for the run and as for cycling, I have been training in the hills for the past few months working on my strength, it will be interesting to see how I go on the flats once Karri Valley is over in a few weeks time. (I am hoping to average 34km/hr at Busselton)

Whatever it is your doing I hope you are focused and injury free. Not long now!!

Just seen your recent logs Sean - all looks good these last few days.

I'm like you, doing what I can when I can.  The bike is going great - all the hills round here are making me a lot stronger, but I'm still passed by mountain goats who make me feel as though I'm at a standstill!

The swim will be OK, but the run is going a bt pear-shaped.  Had a couple of calf cramp issues that won't clear so cutting back on the running until they're sorted.  At least the piriformis has healed with all the rest!

Keep it all going folks.......

HI Team,

We're on the homeward stretch now.......hope your training is going well.   What are your pre-race routines?

I will be flying in from Adelaide with plenty of time before the race to get bike set-up and then have a few easy days to get my head into the game.  I have vowed that this years' routine will not involve a slab of blueberry/apple crumble from the Dunsborough bakery and shameful quantities of Margaret River wine, cheese and chocolate - unlike last year!    That will come after the race.  Tongue out

Keep well

Jane

ha ha the bakery will be a definite stop on the Sunday though

NEWS FLASH: My family is not coming down now because of my wifes work committments and I can not look after the boys while racing so I've cancelled the house we booked. Anyone got a spare couch, mat for me to sleep on??..happy to pay of course I'm going to look for a single room apartment but I'm not expecting much luck

After a month or so of dodgy legs stopping me running, I'm feeling a lot stronger.  Hope I stay healthy now in these last few weeks.

Flying in the Monday before, heading out with friends for a gentle ride then driving down on the Friday before heading back to Melbourne the Tuesday afterwards.

Keep up with all the training, and hope to catch up with you all soon

I was wondering when people were getting down to Busselton for the Half? I want to organise a meet up for BT's at a coffee shop or something.

I'm heading down sometime Friday morning with some mates, so if people are fancying a catch-up, I could be tempted.  Alternatively, I'm flying in to Perth Monday arvo for a few days of catching up with old friends.

Good call Chocky.

Maybe we could all catch up on Friday before the Pre-Race meeting? Say 6.30pm?

Pack some wet weather clothes guys it bucketed here yesterday. Chocky and I had to find shelter on the ride yesterday. Nothing a warm coffee at Fat Duck Cafe couldn't fix. Nearly did some retail therapy at their bike/tri store also.
