Subject: Winter Bike Tires
I posted this over in the biking forum and haven't gotten any traffic, so I figured I would post here as well.  It is getting icy and snowy, and I have already fallen once, so I am looking at getting some tires specifically designed for ice/scnow.  Does anyone have any recommendations?  Will cyclocross tires work, or are the ones with the metal stubs in them better?  Thanks

If you have the clearance, the Nokia ice and snow cyclocross tires are fantastic. The problem is fitting them on a road bike which might not have clearance between the frame and the tire for anything wider that a 700x28? Most cyclocross tires are 700x32 or 34.

IIWY: You must now buy a cyclocross bike.

For me winter tires are 26" x 2.125 @ 25-30psi (i.e. MTB), & even then I ride carefully. Years ago I gave up riding my roadie when there is ANY snow on the roads.
