I'm somewhat new to the area, and also new to tris.  I'm primarily a runner, but I also swim well enough.  I'm not sure where to ride in the Stroudsburg/Pocono Mountains area.  In driving around the area, I notice a very narrow or non-existent shoulder on most roads, and people drive likes idiots.  Any ideas?

Wherabouts do you live?  I live in Effort by the Jonas Hotel and I like to ride on some back roads by hell hollow road and Beltsville.  Some of those roads happen to be where the Black Bear Tri is held.

I attend ESU and live in effort and I ride to school sometimes(22 miles) mostly on back roads.

There are no shoulders here mostly.  I usually stick to back roads during low use hours and take the lane.  When I have to go through towns I haul.
