Well... got the TGT for Christmas... set it all up... the setup was awesome... I was stoked... then I geared up for a 10K run today... was wearing both for a comparison... 405 acquired satellite in 8 seconds while the TGT never did... after 10 mins it asked if I wanted to "Reset GPS"... so I did and on the 2nd try it acquired 3 satellites but never had good enough signal strength to lock on...

SO... I took it off, put it back in the box... put the 405 on my left wrist and went for a run!

First impressions are everything and I am not impressed! Undecided

There is new firmware available for it that is supposed to help with the sat acquisition.

I just updated mine and it found a fix while sitting at the kitchen table, it wouldn't before.

Had mine for a few days and after the firmware update, it gets a lock in about 10 seconds inside my house.  I freaking love this watch.

Is it just me or is having to pay for TrainingPeaks total BS? I also like the fact that I can import from Garmin into BT training logs... is there a way to do that other than manually with the TGT?

Jury is still out... Sealed

I have no need for either Training Peaks of the BT logs.....I just manually input on my own spreadsheet.

The free trainingpeaks account does just about everything that Gramin Connect does. Also you can use Sporttracks (with just about any exercise device) - there is a free and paid version also - http://www.zonefivesoftware.com/sporttracks/

That being said, I just got the TGT also and I am not sure it offers anything over my old Forerunner 305 except for a watch and waterproof.

I loved my new TGT so much that I sold it today... I had it for a total of 1 week... I REALLY WANTED to love it... but did not see much utility in it over my 405... plus I like the BT logs which I can sync my Garmin up to automatically as well as DailyMile... the only thing it offered over the 405 was the Multisport Mode but I have not had an issue with changing modes on the 405 on race day... Sealed

Got mine for Xmas...only used it on the trainer in the basement BUT after the firmwear update it locks in on a Sat even in the basement.
Going for a run in Santiago Chile in a few days and that will be my first GPS run.
QUESTION: Does anyone know HOW to get your "time in HR zones" to display in the training peaks softwear? Everything uploaded great from my trainer workout but it shows no time in zones. Is it a watch setting?
thx

Can't help with the zones thing, but will play with mine later, maybe find something.

I too log my hours in BT and would like to upload my workouts here.

I did find that it got a little confused the other day when I took my bike outside and forgot that I had the speed/cadence sensor magnet on my trainer wheel and I had put my race wheel on for a try out.
Reading cadence, but not speed from the sensor seemed to force it to not show the speed from gps.
If I went to compas, the gps speed was there.

Update...used it 5 times now, 2 runs in Santiago Chile, one in Rio and two trainer sessions.
All the runs the GPS locked in with-in 20sec. Distance seems right on vs what I checked before with my Garmin 305 bike GPS.
Overall, very happy with the TGT so far....fingers crossed for more good results.
P.S....I updated the softwear/firmwear before using it so that might be a good thing for those who havent yet.
