Subject: Foggy Goggles
I recently replaced my smoke-tinted AquaSeal Kaimans with a pair of mirrored ones, and all of a sudden, I can’t keep them clear for more than a few minutes. I never had the problem before with the tinted ones. My usual method (spitting on them) isn’t working, obviously, and I’ve heard mixed things about the “anti-fog” drops/sprays.

Anyone have another never-fail solution for keeping goggles clear?

And, as a side topic, has anyone else noticed that mirrored lenses are harder to keep clear than other lenses?

I've had blue tinted Kaimans for a couple years that still stay clear for the whole swim. I'm on my second set of mirrored ones for bright sun and both sets have started fogging up after about a month.

Dunno if it's the outside coating or they cannot put as good an inside coating on them or what, I just live with it.

In college, we used Johnson's baby shampoo as anti-fog. Might be worth a try.

Did you give the lens a good cleaning before you used them?  I'll use gel toohtpaste and give them a good going over.  After that, any of the 'methods' have some degree of success.
