I don't know about others but I have a hard time getting in the longer winter rides on the trainer 2+ hours. I was wondering if anyone is interested in getting together for a group ride around 3+ hours on the trainer? I think it would be much easier as a group and much more fun to do it. I have a bunch on Spinervals and Ironman races we can watch. Work our way up the the Spinerval Hardcore 100 that is 5 hours long by spring?

I think that is a great idea.  I am interested in participating depending on where and when.

x2, but I don't think I'll be working up to 100 miles on the trainer. Two hours is my limit.

I'd be interested, too!

**Especially since I have plantar fasciitis and can't run AND the heater in the pool that I swim in has been out for a week and will be out for another week or so.  I'm just left with biking right now...lol; although I NEED the extra attention on the bike, I'm getting kind of sick of spin class and the trainer by myself.**

Let me know what, when, where you decide!

I just pitched this idea to the group I train with. One of the guys in the group is a teacher at Hilliard Darby High School. He said we could probably use the school to do this. I expect us to do something like this soon. If everyone would like, I'll be sure to post the day and time we decide to do it. It may be a bit far for you folks in Cinci and beyond, but I'll be sure to let you know.FYI.... The group I train with is called Eagle Multisport, a very small group of tri folks in Hilliard. As Of right now, we meet on Saturdays for a long run. We also meet one night a month for dinner. Tomorrow night we are meeting at Chili Verde next to Bike Source on Sawmill Rd. We typically enjoy a good meal and talk about ideas for group workouts and such. Feel free to join us. We will be there at 6pm and plan to order by 6:30.

Is David Garrity in that group?
Sounds fun, but I don't think it will fit into my schedule. Thanks for posting!

I am also going to check at my local gym to see if we can do it there. They have a workout room, pool and gym. But I am not sure if anyone wants to drive all the way to Sidney.

Alice, I don't know anyone by that name. Dave Eagle is the one who organizes the group. He's a great guy and super knowledgable.

Keith, depending on the day, I may be willing to drive to Sidney. Why not...everyone needs a road trip every now and again. Plus, if others are interested we could carpool.

Brue, I'll keep you posted on dates and such.

For anyone interested, the website for the group is:

http://www.eaglemultisport.com/

I'm sure folks will get more active when the weather is nicer, but the good thing about this group is that several, if not most of the folks involved have HIM or IM races on their 2011 schedule. It will be nice when the weather breaks and the long rides begin.

Well I checked with my gym. They said we can set up on the gym floor just so we don't mess it up. But I cant reserve it. The gym is first come first serve but on most weekend there is plenty of room to set up. But they have no TV for workout videos. They said they will also charge $4 per person and I can only bring two guests but I am sure I can get some of my buddies so help sign others in. It would be nice if someone has a nice big basement we can set up in. I think my garage would be way to cold.

DLaw: I am willing to drive to Hilliard if you can set it up with them.

Columbus may be a bit too far for me.  I have done a century ride on the trainer.  Yes, it was mentally painful.  Crazy - I know.

Any update? I know I would be game for a trainer ride. I've been itching to get back on the bike, but P90x is kicking my arse.
