Swim
Comments: Started at front of line in the middle. Stayed free of trouble and bodies. Tried to draft but difficult to navigate and keep on person's hip cos was a wide course and lots of variations. Opted to go in a straight line and not draft. Kept consistent rhythm up and while was happy to get to the end really enjoyed the swim. AND ALL FRONT CRAWL! Beat my goal time by 1.18. What would you do differently?: Room for improvement with swimming itself but pleased overall with tactics on the day. Transition 1
Comments: Put shoes on and tottered as was only short distance to the out gate. Went smoothly. What would you do differently?: Nail jumping on bike and putting feet in shoes while moving for next year. Bike
Comments: Strong headwind in one direction but was actually quite fun rather than unpleasant. Not many others around me to chase/race which was disappointing. Bike gears wouldn't change onto big ring which slowed me down on the second lap and I had to just pedal superfast to keep speed up. What would you do differently?: Nothing I could have done with gears as bike serviced last Wed. Grrr Need to train getting out of saddle more on hills as it takes all out my legs. Transition 2
Comments: Really slick transition. Realised on the run I had forgotton to tighten my shoes but made no difference to me. What would you do differently?: Shoes off while keeping faster speed going as I slowed down quite a bit. Need proper tri 1 strip shoes aswell. Run
Comments: Once I relaxed legs from bike and got into a pace felt good. Wanted to go faster - felt my breathing could take it but couldn't get my legs to move any faster. In any case think its the fastest I've ever run so very pleased. Close to my target of 23mins. What would you do differently?: run faster Post race
Warm down: Smiled and glowed alot. Event comments: Great race, great atmosphere, great fun. They played motivating music like eye of the tiger and run to you on the run which was fantastic and I'm sure made me go faster!! Last updated: 2005-05-23 12:00 AM
