So my Gore Bike Wear Phantom II Jacket just arrived and tried it on and I have a question for you avid cyclist. Are cycling jackets supposed to be short on the torso? The sleeve and chest fit perfectly, however the torso of the jacket barely covers my waist(2in covering my waistline in the front to give you an idea)

I would see how it does when you in position on your bike. I would think it's personal preference.

Yes, cycling jackets are short in the torso. When you get on the bike and get in the drops, you effectively elongate your back and shorten your torso, so the jackets are designed to mimic that. And yes, you will look kind of funny wearing that jacket for anything else... not to mention have a cold stomach..

Most cycling jackets are cut short in front and extend the tail for when you are riding. John.
