Subject: RE: Houston Triathlon moving to Bridgeland for 2011 You are correct on all fronts. The swim will be two loops in the lake but you will NOT get out before you start the second loop as you did at Towne Lake. This should help a bit with the crowdedness and the stress. Bridgeland, as you know, has a larger lake (for now ) too. As for the bike we will shorten the south side turnaround making it two loops at 12.42 miles each. These loops are straight mergers where as last year at Towne Lake it was a turning merge. That will NEVER happen again. This should be MUCH smoother and better. If you did Gateway the first year the 2 loops we used to have on that course is much like the merge is at Bridgeland. Lastly.... the run will be a beautiful run through the ENTIRE forest trails, over a big bridge and around the lakes of Bridgeland in their newly built bike trail area. 1 loop with a small out and back section at mile 3 designed so that those of you that are competitive can size up your foes coming to run you down. The race should return to Towne Lake in 2012 and be bigger and better than ever. They are extending the lake and it may be a 1 loop swim, 1 loop bike, and 1 loop run. Join us this year at Bridgleand though! |
