Does anyone have this?  I'm thinking about getting one.  Since its ANT+ I plan to put my duotrap on there and at some point a powermeter.  How many ANT+ devices can it communication with at once?

Also, why do they sell 90% of them blue when only 10% of the bikes are in blue, and sell 10% of the black when 90% of the bikes have some black in them?  Yes,  I'm pulling these numbers out of my a$$, but no one sells the black models!

I have one and love it.  As far as color...I could care less.  Put some stickers on it if you want.

As far as ANT+, I have had the speed/cadence sensor, my power tap, and a HRM hooked up via ANT+ all at the same time with no problem.  Not sure what else you would need.

The only problem I have had is that sometimes it will auto pause then resume by itself.  I'm guessing that's a GPS issue.  But it happens so fast that it doesn't affect the garmin file when I download it.  I happens maybe once an hour if that.

I am not sure what the actual number is, but when I had mine, I used HRM, Cadence/speed and PT and all communicated to it with no issues.

I am guessing on this one but I would think it will pick up every ANT+ device you throw at it. Just that once you get to a certain point the memory on the device would fill up pretty quickly and  the 500 would not be able to accept anymore data. I had this happen on an older PT LYC.

On the flip side, the neutrals are out there, you just have to do a little digging. The SKU for it is 010-00829-06. QBP had some in stock last month so your local dealer should be able to get one if they are still in stock. Also Trisports.com shows it available as does competitive cyclist.

Seems like the duotrap is just an equivalent to the Garmin speed/cadence sensor, which my 500 accommodates with my powertap. I wouldn't think you would encounter any problems.

All the reports on the interwebs is it works great, but since its ANT+ and so its the PowerTap, there wasn't alot f info if the 2 could work together.  Seems like it does.

Garmin 500 is not my favorite for using with PM. It is a reasonably priced ant+ device.

I bought a Garmin 500 this past summer to use with my CinQo and replaced it with a Joule in November.

It is compatible with PowerTap. DC Rainmaker has an in depth review of the Garmin 500 here: http://www.dcrainmaker.com/2009/11/garmin-edge-500-in-depth-review.html

Also if you like black they have them available on Ebay.
