Subject: Help needed with cable housing and stem [PICS]

See pics, all three cables are very tight next to the stem.  Result is that the steer cannot run freely, especially once the angle goes >45degrees.  See pics.  Based on pictures on the web I believe the cable should be long enough to make an arch over the stem to avoid this.

Am I making a big deal or is this really dangerous and should I go back to LBS tomorrow?

All help appreciated.

Thanks

If you cannot turn around on a two lane road comfortably (no binding from cables) then I'd have LBS lengthen/adjust the cables.

This is one of the reasons I don't like top-entry cable design. In most at-speed riding situations, you won't need any more, but as one already suggested, if you can't do a U-turn on a country 2-lane road, it needs to be modified.
