So... I have a Duathlon tomorrow... first race of the season... but they are calling for 100% chance of rain... will my PTSL be okay to ride in the rain?

Thanks

Mine worked flawlessly through many wet training rides here in Portland thanks to dielectric grease. You can pick up a small can at most auto parts stores. One can will likely last you the life of the PT.

Unfortunately... that is not an option tonight and the race starts early...

You could try wrapping it in plastic. You just want to keep the contact points on the computer and cradle from getting wet.

The recommendation I have gotten is to go ahead and use it, but afterward, take the cover off and leave it open overnight to air out.

Though I haven't tried it on the PT, regular vasoline works very well for electrical connections in saltwater boats.

My wired PT worked well at IMLP when it rained all day. Many athletes that day lost data part way through the bike.

I agree that opening up hub after race to allow it to dry is a wise idea.

Good Luck Scott...have fun out there tomorrow!

Thanks for the advice... great event despite the high winds and driving rains... I rubber banded some saran wrap over the CPU... no issues... hub is open for drying overnight...
