Subject: Running store in Daytona Beach?

I'm in Wisconsin, but my sister in Daytona Beach wants to start walking/running to lose weight and get in shape! I am so proud of her for taking on this challenge. She needs to get a professional shoe fitting and gait analysis to get into the correct shoes to avoid injury.

Can anyone please recommend a store in Daytona Beach? Or somewhere close?

Thanks in advance!

I was hoping a Floridian would offer a real answer.  We have condo in Daytona Beach Shore.  I bike and run there a bit.  I have bought shoes at Sports Authority.  Decent prices but not the sort of place you mean that offers expert help with shoe selection.  If your sister wanted to take up bicycle racing, I could recommend a great bicycle shop called Plan B Cycling.  It is a fun place because of their stock of high end bikes.

I lived in Ormond Beach and Went to high school in Daytona and Spikes Athletic Footwear in Holly Hilly is probably one of the best legitimate running shoe stores in the area. They do shoe fitting and will really be able to help in getting her the right shoe for her feet

I also definitely second Plan B Cycling in Port  Orange or The Bike Shop in Ormond Beach.

Glad I could help, even though I don't live in the area any more

Sorry about the late post. I am just getting to the reading of these posts.  I have lived in the Daytona Area for over 20+ years, and ONLY go to Spikes (very helpful /knowledgeable staff) on US1 in Holly Hill for my running shoes, and I go to Plan B in Port Orange  just off of Herbert St. for my biking gear.  The owner and workers are fantastic and advid triathelets.  I was just there this past weekend, and they gave me great advice on anything I asked.  I plan to go there for a bike "fitting" soon.  They have it all there, even training groups. Enjoy! Keep tri'ing!
